Міжнародний проект Ради Європи ICC City Grant for developing a training module on intercultural competence

Melitopol and Ballarat are two of the cities who have been awarded a joint grant under the Intercultural Cities Programme’s grant scheme for inter-city work.

The cities will cooperate to develop a training module and information material to inform the public on intercultural competence. The cities aim to focus on training the trainers to ensure maximum spread of the information. Each trainer will commit to training a number of persons to ensure the spread of the knowledge on interculturalism and the applicable principles within the participating cities. The project will also be evaluated both before and after the implementation to assess the impact. Additionally, the material will be available in two languages – English and Ukrainian.

The project’s partners are Melitopol City Council, Melitopol State Pedagogical University, Centre for Social Studies, Melitopol, Melitopol Youth Centre, Melitopol Association of Minorities, Melitopol Libraries, Ballarat Regional Multicultural Council (BRMC), Ballarat Community Health, Centre for Multicultural Youth, Ballarat City Youth Services, Ballarat Libraries and City of Ballarat – Intercultural Ambassadors.

The main deliverables of the project are a set of tools and methodologies for intercultural competence including a training module and a manual for local authorities and training of trainers representing a wide variety of sectors in society including public administrators, media and police.
