NUMO 2026: Mobility program for Ukrainian artists and cultural professionals in Germany

Про програму
NUMO — це програма мобільності, яка надає фінансову підтримку українським митцям, науковцям та працівникам культури для участі у провідних міжнародних заходах у Німеччині. Головною метою програми є підвищення видимості України на європейській культурній мапі шляхом залучення українських фахівців до заходів, що мають стратегічне значення для культурного представництва країни.
What does the programme offer?
The programme provides mobility grants for the participation in the events that take place in Germany (see the list of the eligible formats below), depending on the duration of stay :
1–2 days — up to 500 euros
3–4 days — up to 700 euros
5–10 days — up to 1,000 euros
Residencies from one month — 1,500 euros
* Additional support of up to €500 is available for participants with special needs (e.g. related to health).
Please note: The programme provides financial support only. All logistical arrangements — such as booking travel and accommodation, liaising with event organisers, or obtaining necessary travel documents — are the sole responsibility of the participants.
Who can apply?
The programme is open to Ukrainian:
- artists working in all disciplines (film, visual arts, music, performing arts, literature, etc.);
- cultural researchers and scholars in the fields of history, Ukrainian studies, sociology, political science, and cultural studies;
- cultural managers.
Both individual and group applications are welcome (up to 5 people per group).
Which events or activities are eligible for support?
Funding is available exclusively for participation in events held in Germany that are of international relevance and carry strategic value for the representation of Ukraine. Eligible events may include:
- international festivals (film, music, theatre, literature, etc.);
- exhibitions and biennials of contemporary art, architecture and design;
- professional conferences and symposia in the field of culture and arts;
- forums and platforms for cultural dialogue;
- international competitions and award ceremonies;
- other internationally recognised cultural events;
- short-term residencies (1-2 months)
Conditions for participation
- the event must take place in Germany.
- the event must be international in scope and of strategic importance.
- the event must be scheduled for 2026.
- applicants must provide official confirmation of active participation (e.g. invitation letter from the organiser or event programme indicating their role).
- applications must be submitted in English.
- one person may submit only one application between April and December 2026.
- the application must be submitted at least 3 weeks before the event.
How to apply
Submit the completed application (link) form in English, along with a document confirming active participation (e.g. as a speaker, moderator, invited expert) from the event organisers, to: mobility-germany@ui.org.ua by 7 December 2026 at the latest.
Please note: Funding will be allocated on a first-come, first-served basis until the programme budget is fully used. The Representative Office of the Ukrainian Institute in Germany reserves the right to make the final decision regarding the awarding of funding.
Report
Within 30 days after the end of the event, participants must submit a report in English, which should include:
- a one-page summary outlining the event and the participant’s outcomes;
- documents confirming attendance/participation in the event (confirmation of participation from the event organisers);
- photos and/or videos of the events (if available).
In the case of group participation, the group leader is responsible for submitting a single report that includes documents confirming the participation of each group member.
